Marty Fosse (formerly with Spiaggia and Savarin) has opened Anteprima (5316 N. Clark St.). “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for many, many years,” says Fosse about his rustic 50-seater. “This is Italian food I’ve learned about from being in people’s homes — tagliatelle with prosciutto ragu, sliced sirloin with arugula, duck braised in red wine.” The menu will include an antipasti table, a half-dozen pastas and plenty more. It looks as though it’s finally lights out for Papa Milano (951 N. State St.), which has been on a death watch since its building was purchased last year. At first, the restaurant was told to clear out by Nov. 2, 2006, but Papa Milano’s was given extension after extension. Now, owner Rosemarie Sciaccotta says she has a we-mean-it-this-time deadline of the end of May. “But my liquor license expires May 15,” she says. “I have to see if I can get a two-week extension.” 312-787-3710.
Open for a few weeks now is My Way Ristorante (8116 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs). Owner Ted Salievski (who operated My Way back when it was simply a breakfast-lunch spot a few blocks away) oversees a classic-Italian menu of chicken piccata, seafood linguini and the like.
