In the reality series “Wife, Mom, Bounty Hunter,” star Sandra Scott is shown buying guns in one scene and planning a party for her 6-year-old daughter Ever-Skye in another.
Later, she apprehends two fugitives and squeezes in time to console her oldest daughter Sabree over the death of the 15-year-old’s pet Chihuahua, Buddy.
It’s all in a day’s work for this tough-but-tender working mom, who has had a lot of career and life training in a number of unorthodox professions, including as a professional bruiser in G.L.O.W.: The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Before she entered the ring, Scott worked as an adult entertainment actress.
Scott, 41, became a private detective and eventually a bounty hunter in Phoenix. Her latest professional pursuits in a male-dominated field have landed Scott a reality show on the WE. It airs at 8 p.m. Fridays. Here’s what she had to say about the new gig and other topics during a phone interview in April.
On having her own reality show: “I was approached and had to think about it carefully for two minutes, and then I said, yes, of course. Who wouldn’t want their own television show?”
Why producers chose her: “A friend of mine wrote a piece on me for Marie Claire. The producers of ‘Good Morning America’ read the story, and then they did a piece on me as a suburban wife and mother who happened to be a bounty hunter. That was about a year-and-a-half ago. After that, I was getting calls about having my own show. [Laughs] I guess the ‘Wife, Mom, Bounty Hunter’ movie is next.”
On finding a new pet Chihuahua for Sabree: “We haven’t gotten another dog yet. The trick is finding a dog that will be compatible with Bonita [the family’s surviving Chihuahua]. She’s an alpha female and whatever dog we get will have to be submissive.”
