Out of fashion?

I am shocked and appalled at the pictures of the model used in your

fashion section (“Legs for Days,”April 8). She appears to be anorexic. I think it’s generally agreed that using extremely thin models, in addition to being an unhealthy condition for the models themselves, sets a dangerous example for all the young women who view these images.

AFTER LOOKING AT your spring fashion trends, I came to this conclusion: The Addams Family mom, Morticia, has found a new career in modeling.

Fighting for Field’s

I was heartened to see that the Magazine is encouraging Macy’s to pack it up ( In the Loop, April 8). Who can ignore the protests, letters to the editor, leafletting, and boycott of Macy’s? Those of us who bemoan the loss of Field’s are not giving up the fight.

Who’s elderly?

We take exception to your article on Sanibel/Captiva beaches (Travel Issue, April 15) that referred to an “elderly Sanibel couple in their 60s . . .”

Come on, Dolly Parton is 60; tell her she’s elderly. Doesn’t the writer realize “elderly” and “60s” just doesn’t fit any longer? Look around: Are you sure 60 is elderly?
