John A. Neumann, age 78, of Matteson, formerly of Lansing, IL. passed away Wednesday May 2, 2007. He is survived by his children Kathy (Greg) Smith of N.C., Janet (David) Crabtree of Athens, IL and Patty Neumann of Chicago; special friend Irene Doncheff. John was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ida Neumann and brother Henry Neumann. John was an Allstate Insurance Agent for over 40 years, he was a graduate of Parker High School in Chicago and was active in sports. He was a skilled craftsman and carpenter who found pleasure in working with his hands. His interests included nature, fishing, boating and animals. Blueberry muffins were his passion. John was a wonderful father and a kind and caring friend. There will be no visitation or burial services. Interment of cremains will take place at St. Luke Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers in memory of Mr. Neumann donations may be directed to the Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231.
