Former Milwaukee Mayor and urban design expert John Norquist will discuss “Marketing the New Urbanism” at a luncheon Thursday. The program, presented in conjunction with the Society for Marketing Professional Services’ Midwest Regional Conference, will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at The Standard Club, 320 S. Plymouth Ct.

Author of “The Wealth of Cities,” Norquist is now chief executive of Chicago-based Congress for the New Urbanism, which promotes alternatives to big-city sprawl.

The program is $40 for SMPS and American Institute of Architects members, $60 for non-members and $20 for students. There is a $10 surcharge for walk-ins.
