Braves starter Chuck James gave up two runs on a home run by Adrian Gonzalez and a sacrifice fly by Kevin Kouzmanoff, three hits and four walks to the Padres in 3 2/3 innings, the first time in seven starts this season James has not lasted five innings.
Devil Rays relief pitcher Juan Salas was suspended for 50 games after becoming the first player this year to flunk a drug test under MLB’s testing program. Salas tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance, the commissioner’s office said.
