1. ‘George Lopez’

7 p.m., WLS-Ch. 7

George (George Lopez) gets Max (Luis Armand Garcia) a job in the factory to show him what sort of career a lack of schooling will get him. Later in the hourlong season finale, George is under pressure from the company’s new owner (Edward James Olmos) to make some changes.

2. ‘Frontline’

9 p.m., WTTW-Ch. 11

The United States is one of the few countries in the world that allows children under 18 to be prosecuted as adults and sentenced to life without parole. In Colorado, between 1992 and 2006, 45 teenage juveniles were sentenced to prison without the hope of ever being released. In the “Frontline” program “When Kids Get Life,” producer Ofra Bikel visits five young men sentenced to life without parole to examine their crimes and punishment, the laws that sanctioned their convictions and the prospect of their never being free again.

3. ‘Independent Lens’

10:30 p.m., WTTW-Ch. 11

Jimmy Mirikitani has lots of stories to tell, but he’d prefer to show you. The new documentary “The Cats of Mirikitani” is a deeply personal profile of an artist who grew up in Hiroshima, was confined to a U.S. internment camp during World War II and spent his later years on the streets of New York. Filmmaker Linda Hattendorf found him there and urged him to share his life story and his art. After the 9/11 attacks, she opened her home to him.
