Snoop Dogg has a beef — with beefs in general.

In the wake of the latest wave of media criticism over rap’s image and lyrics, Snoop told mtv.com that hip-hop as a community “has enough enemies” and everyone should get over their differences.

“They’re trying to stomp out rap with this Imus situation. … They’re trying to use us as a scapegoat,” Snoop said. “If we’re getting along and we’re policing each other and we’re able to communicate, then if I have a misunderstanding with you, I’m able to call you without calling Russell Simmons or Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.”

That’s not to say he’s happy with the way the community leaders handled the Imus backlash.

“Those guys are irrelevant, if you ask me, and that’s not to disrespect them,” he told MTV. “I love what they do and how they do it, but they’re not players, they’re owners. You gotta get the players involved.”
