A man was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday after his landlord found him bound with an extension cord, beaten and slashed inside his South Side apartment. Robert Bishop, 68, was attacked about 1 a.m. Tuesday in his first-floor apartment in the 5100 block of South Calumet Avenue, according to police and the man’s landlord, Joseph Williams. Williams, who lives in the apartment above Bishop, said he heard noises in the middle of the night and went to investigate.
