*Tobin Del Cuore, an enormously gifted dancer, is leaving Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at the end of the summer. Del Cuore, 28, whose many achievements include a showy solo in Lar Lubovitch’s “Cryptoglyph,” unveiled in April at the Harris Theater, won’t be joining another troupe for now but will remain in Chicago to pursue other interests.
*An employment tribunal in England ruled Thursday that Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, discriminated against their chef by firing her after she became pregnant. The couple, who face having to make a substantial compensation payment, said they are “devastated” by the ruling. Jane Martin, 41, said Styler grew unhappy after Martin became pregnant in 2005, making her work long hours and growing angry when she took time off work because of illness.
*Variety and TV Guide are reporting that the low-rated but critically acclaimed drama “Friday Night Lights” is getting a second season from NBC. A spokesman for the show would not confirm the reports, which were posted on the publications’ sites Thursday evening, but all signs point to a “Friday Night Lights” return in the fall.
