“‘The Salon’ is no new ‘do but a redo. Like a perm that won’t grow away, it’s stuck in the race-comedy mold of ‘Barbershop,’ ‘Barbershop 2’ and ‘Beauty Shop.’ Been there, done that hair.”
Zoo
(not rated)
What it’s about: A documentary about a 2005 incident in which Boeing engineer Kenneth Pinyan died of a perforated colon after having sexual relations with a horse.

“So much immaculate effort and polished technique is put into this documentary … that you wonder if its director, Robinson Devor, is putting us on. Whether he is or not, the movie is almost too decorous, elaborate and heavy-handed for its own good.”
