Ohio State scored a run in the seventh inning on an error Saturday, giving the Buckeyes a 2-1 victory over Northwestern for the Big Ten softball tournament title.

The loss snapped the Wildcats’ 12-game winning streak and dropped them to 45-11. Ohio State is 38-16.

In the Wildcats’ third, Katie Logan singled, raced to third when the ball got past the center fielder and scored when the throw went into the Buckeyes’ dugout. Ohio State tied it 1-1 in the fourth.

*St. Bonaventure baseball coach Larry Sudbrook, 52, is facing federal charges that he tried to carry a handgun through security checkpoints at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the university said. Sudbrook was traveling with the team to North Carolina when a legally owned handgun was found in one of his bags.

*The UIC baseball team (30-17) clinched its sixth consecutive Horizon League regular-season championship with a 4-2 victory over Butler.
