George Lopez isn’t so happy his show on ABC is getting canceled.

“TV just became really, really white again,” he said to the Los Angeles Times. Lopez said the network unceremoniously canceled “The George Lopez Show,” which focused on his personal life.

Lopez also was the first Hispanic to lead a successful TV series. He said he got a phone call from ABC’s prime-time president over the weekend letting him know the news.

“I’ll take the good and the bad,” Lopez said to the Los Angeles Times. “I took the five years of good, and I did a lot with the good. My popularity, I was involved in charities, I overcame my illness, all on TV. I shared all of that with America — every secret I had. … Every emotion. Everything was open to the show. And what happens?”

The show will, however, live on in syndication.
