*The Stevenson High School Foundation will hold a program at 7 p.m. May 29 in the West Commons of the high school to honor seniors who have won local scholarships and awards. The Local Scholars Reception lets foundation scholarship donors spend time with the scholarship winners.

*The Highland Park High School Band will hold a carwash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Hidden Creek Aqua Park on Central Avenue in Highland Park. Tickets are $10. The rain date is Sunday. Proceeds will fund extracurricular activities, student scholarships, band trips and supplies.
NORTHBROOK AND GLENVIEW, DISTRICT 30
*Maple School is looking for volunteers to support the seventh annual Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Run, which will take place at 8 a.m. June 2 at Maple School, 2370 Shermer Rd., Northbrook. It honors the memory of Maple applied technology teacher Lew Blond, who died of Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) in February 2000. Proceeds benefit research through the Les Turner ALS Foundation, provide scholarships for former Maple students interested in education careers after graduation from Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South High Schools. Proceeds also support special District 30 projects. To volunteer, call the Maple School office at 847-400-8900.

*Orders are being taken for the District 31 Education Foundation cookbook. The 100-recipe book will be available for $10 at the end of May. Orders and checks made out to the District 31 Education Foundation can be sent to the district office, 3131 Techny Rd., Northbrook, IL 60062.
