*An independent trustee will maintain control over a bankrupt company, owned by O.J. Simpson’s children, that holds the rights to the canceled Simpson book “If I Did It,” a federal judge ruled Thursday. The decision paves the way for the family of slaying victim Ron Goldman to negotiate a deal for the rights to the manuscript.

*David Hasselhoff had a great line Wednesday, and fans ate it up. “Anybody know where I can get a hamburger?” the actor joked during taping of “America’s Got Talent” in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. A recent video of the former “Baywatch” star showed him drunk on the floor of a Las Vegas hotel, messily munching a giant hamburger.

*Paris Hilton won’t appeal the 45-day jail term she was sentenced to earlier this month for violating probation, according to court documents filed Thursday. A lawyer for the 26-year-old socialite notified Los Angeles County Superior Court that she is abandoning her appeal, a court spokeswoman said.
