The International Olympic Committee poured water on Chicago’s 2016 Olympic logo Wednesday, saying the city’s torch imagery is too similar to that of the Olympics and violates IOC rules of conduct for host-city hopefuls. The rules say logos can’t contain the Olympic symbol, motto, flag or other imagery including a flame, torch or medal.

So what’s a city to do? Suggestions on the chicagotribune.com message board included: “… a big cookie jar with a hand sticking in it”; “… just a big image of Daley’s face” and “Something with wrought iron fencing.”

In response, team RedEye started thinking, and we’re ready to offer Mayor Daley our 2016 Olympic logo options.

Trying to modernize the city image? Why not build a new campaign off of our latest icon, The Bean.

Go, dawg, go!

Assure the IOC that the athletes will be well fed on the meal that made Chicago great. And while most dogs don’t

currently come with a poppyseed bun, the city can step it up for the Olympics.
