Even the staunchest pacifist will be moved by the story of Marine Sgt. Rafael Peralta (right). A Mexican immigrant who enlisted as soon as he got his green card, then volunteered for Iraq, he sacrificed his life to save his platoon mates in Fallujah in 2004, shielding them from a grenade by covering it with his own body. In this new special, members of his two families — his mother and siblings and his platoon — share their grief and their pride.
2. ‘CSI: NY’

It’s only a game — yeah, right. Mac, Stella and Flack (Gary Sinise, Melina Kanakaredes, Eddie Cahill) investigate the death of an assistant prosecutor. They discover he was into a fantasy game involving water guns, and he would do anything to win. Detective Kaile Maka (guest star Kelly Hu) helps Danny and Sheldon (Carmine Giovinazzo, Hill Harper) investigate a death linked to a restaurant with a menu worthy of “Fear Factor.”
3. ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’

It’s Benson (Mariska Hargitay, left) versus the eco-terrorists. Who do you think will win this one? The detectives discover a link between a rape and a radical environmentalist group; the victim used to date a member of the group, and now she’s an informant for the FBI. The investigation takes Benson under cover within the group to foil its violent plans and find the rapist.
4. ‘The States’

This episode takes viewers to Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Hawaii, South Carolina and Montana: Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pa.; Garrison Keillor and his radio program, “A Prairie Home Companion”; the Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley; and the site of the Little Bighorn battle.
5. Boxing
9:15 p.m., HBO
In his fourth title defense and taking on a champion or former champ for the fifth straight time, undefeated middleweight king Jermain Taylor battles Cory Spinks in Memphis, Tenn. Spinks, Leon’s son and Michael’s nephew, moves up in weight for this one; he holds the IBF junior middleweight belt. In the opener, top middleweight contenders Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik duke it out.
