– I was a regular viewer of “Wings,” and I would like to know if the actor who stars in “Monk” is the same actor who was the cabdriver on “Wings.” — Kevin Mooney, Williston Park, N.Y.

Yes, the actor behind both roles is Tony Shalhoub, who has won three Emmy Awards (out of four nominations) to date for “Monk.”

– Is “So You Think You Can Dance” coming back on Fox? I’d sure love to see it again. — Kathy Kosik, Toledo, Ohio

You’ll be happy with this answer, since you have only a few more days to wait. The contest launches its third season Thursday, May 24, with Cat Deeley returning for her second consecutive summer of hosting the show.

– I love “Will & Grace.” I have the DVD collections of seasons one through five, and I was wondering when seasons six through eight will be out. — Kristin Hicks, Lexington, N.C.

You can remove one from your wish list right now, since Lionsgate released the sixth season of the former NBC sitcom on May 1. Those boxed sets tend to be released on an average of every six months or so; thus, season seven is likely to be out in a DVD set before the end of the year.

– My wife and I love the show “Standoff.” Fox took it off before the holidays. Is it coming back? — George Bez, Schaumburg, Ill.

Fox had announced its return a couple of times, then changed its mind, but the good news is that the show has been scheduled yet again to return. June 8 is the latest date given by the network for the series, starring Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt as romantically involved hostage negotiators, to rejoin the schedule.

– I believe in the late ’90s, there was a show about a cowboy. He had one friend who was a lawyer and another who was an inventor who would invent prototypes of vehicles and other items not available in their era. Any idea what it was? — Renee Connors, Kent, Wash.

A definite one. It was “The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.,” which Fox aired during the 1993-94 season. Bruce Campbell played the title bounty hunter in the relatively lighthearted series, available in its entirety in a DVD set from Warner Home Video.
