Messerschmidt, 90, of Elmhurst, beloved husband of Anna nee Fritzel; father of Alan, Jane Venafro, Steve, John, Donna Weigle,Julie Schweppe, Eric and the late Freddie; grandfather of 24; great-grandfather of nine. He was very active in his community, having served on the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Board of Governors and as a member of the Elmhurst Kiwanis Club, DuPage County Jury Commission, Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce as well as numerous other groups and organizations.
