Baltimore’s muchmaligned bullpen, which had compiled a 6.33 ERA in its last 28 games, got the job done in Wednesday’s 5-2 win over Toronto. Before Chris Ray got three straight outs for his 11th save, Chad Bradford and Jamie Walker each pitched a perfect inning.

Phillies closer Brett Myers left Wednesday’s game against the Marlins in the ninth inning with a strained right shoulder and the team said he may return home Thursday for further examination. “It should be all right,” he said. “I don’t think it popped or tore.”
