Herbert Friend, 92 of East Dundee, IL died on Thursday, May 24, 2007. He was born on July 2, 1914 in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Simon and Belle Freund; beloved husband to Cyril; dear father to Peter (Marjorie), Jonathan (Susan), Daniel (Cheryl Prince) and Robin (Mark) Seigle; fond grandfather to Julie (Marc) Cairo, Heather (Greg) Metz, Emily (Jason Goldberg) Friend, Margot Seigle and Samuel Friend; great-grandfather to Gillian and Max Cairo and Noah Metz; brother of the late Julien Freund. He was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Congregation Kneseth Israel, 330 Division St., Elgin 60120. Laird Funeral Home, West Dundee, is in charge of arrangements.
