Charlie (David Krumholtz) calls on a fellow professor to help him and Larry (Peter MacNicol) re-create a backdraft in the lab and make a “fireprint.” Bill Nye (right) of “Science Guy” fame guest stars as the professor.

2. NASCAR racing

The Carquest Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., should will be stocked with Busch Series regulars as well as those dreaded double-dippers from the Nextel Cup circuit, which holds a race here Sunday. Defending Carquest champion Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick are among those who run both schedules full time, and through 10 Busch starts this season, they sit 1-2 in the standings.

Is there a doctor in the house? No, just Kate Walsh, who plays one on TV. The “Grey’s Anatomy” star makes a house call to the sketch comedy series, playing a mom who organizes a scavenger hunt for her child’s party. Elsewhere, Barack Obama (Keegan Michael Key) crashes a dinner honoring Hillary Clinton (Nicole Parker) and steals the show.
