My daughter and I are fans of “The Wedding Bells,” and we’ve been disappointed that it has been missing from the Friday schedule in recent weeks. Has it been canceled? — Michelle Sheppard, Greenbelt, Md.
Yes. In fact, Fox halted work on the David E. Kelley-produced, Teri Polo–starring series before all of the ordered episodes had been completed.
I’m a big fan of the Sci Fi Channel series “Doctor Who.” Do you know when the next season is going to be shown? — Mike Mindick, Brockton, Mass.
The channel plans to begin running the third season of the show’s latest incarnation in July. David Tennant will be back as the title time traveler, who will have a new sidekick in Martha Jones, played by Freema Agyeman — and among those they’ll encounter will be William Shakespeare. (We aren’t kidding.)
I have watched seasons one through eight of “Frasier” on DVD, as well as the final season. I’ve never seen seasons nine and 10 on DVD. Will they ever appear? — Genevieve Barney, Seattle
The ninth one just has. Paramount Home Entertainment released it on May 15, so that only leaves season 10 to make its debut on disc. It’s entirely possible that will happen by the end of this year.
My husband and I were watching Morgan Freeman and Monica Potter in “Along Came a Spider,” and we are wondering if Ms. Potter is a relative of Julia Roberts. — Velma Henehan, Mayer, Ariz.
Despite the strong resemblance, no, the two actresses aren’t related.
What happened to Tracey Needham, who was in the first season of “JAG”? — Herb Brooks, Holdenville, Okla.
After her single season on the military drama (she was replaced by Catherine Bell when the show moved from NBC to CBS), Needham wrote, directed, produced and starred in a short 1997 feature titled “Tupperware Party.” She also was a regular on the short-lived ABC series “Total Security” but had a longer run as one of the police detectives on the Lifetime drama “The Division.”
Additionally, Needham has made the guest-star rounds on shows including “Without a Trace,” “Criminal Minds” and “Veronica Mars.” Parenthood probably has been a factor in her professional decisions, too, since she and husband Tommy Hinkley (“Mad About You”) have a daughter.
