1. ‘How I Met Your Mother’

7 p.m., WBBM-Ch. 2

Want to see Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) naked? You can’t see it all on network television, of course, but he comes close. When a nude portrait of Marshall (Jason Segel) surfaces, Lily (Alyson Hannigan, right) realizes she misses painting nudes, and Barney offers to pose for her. But he’s distressed when he sees the finished product. Ted (Josh Radnor) can’t bring himself to fire a problem employee (Bryan Cranston).

2. ‘Everybody Hates Chris’

7 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9

Any block you can watch, I can watch better. The theft of Julius’ (Terry Crews, below left) truck prompts Rochelle (Tichina Arnold, below right) to start a neighborhood watch, but she faces competition for the job of block captain from neighbor Louise (Whoopi Goldberg). Chris (Tyler James Williams) asks a new girl out, while Drew (Tequan Richmond) finds his new gig as a crossing guard makes him a babe magnet — and a traffic hazard.

3. ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’

7:30 p.m., WBBM-Ch. 2

Just say yes. That’s Richard’s (Clark Gregg) philosophy of life, and according to him, the reason he has been lucky in love. Christine’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) love life hasn’t been so great, so she decides to try it Richard’s way. When a good-looking stranger (guest star Scott Bakula) asks her out, she accepts. Trevor Gagnon and Hamish Linklater also star.

4. Miss Universe 2007

8 p.m., WMAQ-Ch. 5

It may not be truly a universal competition, what with no entries from other planets, but until we find life on other planets that looks good in swimsuits and evening gowns, it’ll have to do. The pageant is held in Mexico City this year. Representing the home team as Miss USA is Rachel Smith (right) of Tennessee.

5. ‘Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed’

8 p.m., History

A History Channel special about “Star Wars”? No, it’s not a boring behind-the-scenes show tracing the evolution of special effects. Instead, it looks at the role played by real history in shaping the Skywalker saga. The film franchise’s themes are universal, so it’s no surprise they echo the real world. Ancient Greek myths, the King Arthur legend and the deeds of Napoleon and Hitler are among the influences studied. Fascinating stuff.

6. ‘The Game’

8:30 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9

Should she keep her nose in her books or her eyes on her guy? Derwin (Pooch Hall) wants Melanie (Tia Mowry) to come to his first away game, but she tells him she needs to stay home and study.
