Celebrities have an on-going love affair with tanned skin. From tell-all TV interviews to opulent St. Tropez vacations, starlets show off their bronzed — or more likely, orangey — glow. But all that may be about to change.

A recent poll of 1,004 people by The Skin Cancer Foundation and iVillage found that 53 percent didn’t think they looked better with a tan, reports The Associated Press. And 63 percent of those polled said they are not more attracted to someone who is tan. Uh-oh. It looks like Hollywood’s tanorexics should grab some sunscreen instead of a bottle of self-tanner.

We at RedEye welcome the day our eyes aren’t barraged with pumpkin-tinted celebrities. They seem to be everywhere lately: from the highly-pigmented fox trotters on “Dancing With the Stars” to the Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet (we’re talking to you, “Ocean’s 13” cast). And Lindsay Lohan’s carrot-shaded tan in “Georgia Rule” proved to be distracting to many a movie-goer.

To show solidarity for the movement, we’ve complied a collection of photos showing celebs and their unsightly-hues in hopes that it will inspire them to let the tanning trend, um, fade.
