James Anthony Bernero, age 76, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at his home. James is survived by his loving family, his wife, June Bernero; four daughters, Jacqueline Bernero, Joyann (Daniel) Brake, Janine (Mark) Weber, Janelle (Michael) Portwood; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Benjamin, Sophia, James, Anna, Jack, Joshua, and Baby Weber. James was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Ida Bernero; five brothers and two sisters. James feared God and loved Jesus Christ with all his heart, and pursued excellence in everything he did. James was a School Administrator in the Chicago area public school system for 38 years, during which time he served as the Principal at Luella Elementary School in Chicago. He was active in Gideons International and a veteran of the United States Army. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel,65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, on Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service, Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
