Richard J. Fry, of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Chicago, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2007 in Greensburg, KS at the age of 62. Richard was born on August 23, 1944 in Chicago. Son of the late Jack D. and Olga H. Fry, he was a U.S. Army Veteran who recently retired from Rocky Mountain Business Systems in Albuquerque. Richard was a lover of nature and animals, and he spent much of his free time camping in the mountains near his Albuquerque home. He recently began a freelance business selling original artwork, photography and poetry to local artisan shops. An avid traveler, he made frequent visits to his family in the Chicago area. Richard’s kind heart, free spirit and humorous, inquisitive nature will be deeply missed by his family here in Chicago and by many dear friends in Albuquerque. Richard was the father of Elisabeth; loving brother of the late James (Diane); beloved uncle of James (Joyce), Jeffrey (Jacki) and Debra (Rick); cherished great uncle of Alexandra; dear cousin and nephew to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Richard will be held Saturday, June 2 at 12:30 p.m. with visitation from 11 to 1 p.m. at Geils Funeral Home, 260 West Irving Park Road, Wood Dale, 630-766-3232. In lieu of flowers, donations made in his name to American Red Cross, Tornado Relief in Kansas, 2200 W. Harrison, Chicago, IL 60612 are appreciated.
