Dreaming of Anna, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner bred and owned by Chicagoan Frank Calabrese and trained by Wayne Catalano, will be back at the scene of her first victory last summer when she runs in Saturday’s $48,000 Double Delta Stakes at Arlington Park. The 2006 national champion 2-year-old filly will be running on the grass after finishing a tiring sixth last time out on the dirt in America’s most prestigious race for 3-year-old fillies, the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs.

*Anaheim Ducks left wing Chris Kunitz continues to skate and work out but is not ready to play in the Stanley Cup finals. Kunitz had surgery in mid-May after he broke a bone in his right hand during Game 1 of the Western Conference finals at Detroit. He was all but ruled out for the rest of the playoffs, but his presence still leaves the door open that he might be able to help Anaheim at some point against the Ottawa Senators. … Matthew Lombardi signed a three-year extension with the Flames. The 25-year-old forward is coming off a breakout season. He set career highs with 20 goals and 26 assists while playing 81 games this season.

*Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman was sentenced Friday to six days in a treatment program, settling his drunken-driving conviction. Thurman also was put on two years’ probation. Thurman is still suspended by the NFL for violating its substance-abuse policy. … Veteran offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi, released by the Cleveland Browns last month after two seasons with the club, has been diagnosed with a treatable form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Andruzzi, 31, has begun getting chemotherapy treatments in a Boston hospital. … Former starting cornerback Kelly Herndon, who is a Super Bowl record-holder, was cut by the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks made the move because they think former first-round draft pick Kelly Jennings is ready to start at the position this season. Herndon started all 16 regular-season games in 2006 and had a career-high-tying 67 tackles before he broke his ankle in the regular-season finale at Tampa Bay. Herndon returned an interception 76 yards in the 2006 Super Bowl.

*Texas defensive end Henry Melton was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Friday. Melton was pulled over in the popular Sixth Street entertainment district in Austin, Texas, after officers noticed his truck moving in an unsafe manner.
