Her bert M. Licht, son of paint company founder J.C. Licht, regional buyer for the Fred Harvey Company and landscape architect, died March 4, 2007, in Elmhurst. Herb was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Licht (1920-1970) and his second wife Ruth Licht, nee Breed (1924-2004); his love of life is remembered by his children, John (Priscilla) Licht, Jennifer (Vicki Sliger) Hamilton, Jeffrey (Carol) Licht and Jody (Bill) Baty; his stepchildren, Nancy Breed-Mackin and Richard Breed, nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many friends who all miss him. Herbert made an impact on the world by sharing his sense of the beauty of trees through his landscape designs from Elmhurst to Hot Springs, AR to Yakima, WA. A memorial Celebration for Herbert M. Licht will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007, 1 to 4 p.m. in the Elmhurst College Union – Founder’s Lounge, 190 S. Prospect, Elmhurst, Illinois.
