Carmina M. Murphy, nee Orlando, 81, of Vernon Hills, died May 30 in Highland Park Hospital. She was born August 11, 1925 in Chicago and had been a Lake County resident since 1955. Mrs. Murphy had retired as Executive Vice President, Corp. Secretary for L.W. Biegler Insurance Co. of Chicago. She was a graduate of De Paul University, and had served as head of the Louis Biegler Foundation. She was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish and was supporter of the Botonical Gardens. Survived by her sisters: Mary Rose (James) Gaudio, Anna Marie (Frank) Hill and Jeanne (Robert) Landau; her nieces and nephews: Frank Hill Jr., Gary (Haydee) Hill, Patricia (Langley) Respass, Larry (Valerie) Hill, Ken (Andrea) Hill, Judy (Mike) Scala, Jim (Connie) Gaudio, Robert Gaudio, Nicole Orlando, Karen (Rick) Range, Lori (Tony) Kestler and Keith (Melanie) Landau; many grand nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Mary Shehee. Preceded in death by her husband, David C. Murphy in 1999 and her brother, Nick (Pat) Orlando. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, Vernon Hills (Rt. 45, 1 block west of Butterfield Rd.), 847-362-1005. Visitation Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt. 176, 1 block east of Milwaukee Ave.) Interment Ascension Cemetery.
