Matt Garza, considered the Twins’ best pitching prospect behind the injured Francisco Liriano, is steaming after watching Triple-A teammates Kevin Slowey, Glen Perkins and Scott Baker all get promoted ahead of him. Garza, who is 2-5 with a 3.21 ERA for Rochester, put himself into the doghouse when he criticized the Twins for pushing him to throw more off-speed pitches. … Jason Schmidt is close to returning to the Dodgers, but his fastball isn’t back in the mid-90s. … Cleveland closer Joe Borowski could be an interesting All-Star call.
