Paul O’Connor, executive director of World Business Chicago, will address Chicago’s growth as a global center for business and culture at AIGA Chicago’s annual member meeting Thursday at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave.

After careers in journalism, government and corporate marketing, O’Connor organized World Business Chicago in 1999 at Mayor Richard Daley’s request with the mission of enhancing the region’s economy. O’Connor will provide his perspective on the unique role design can fill in the city’s progress.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with O’Connor’s speech at 6:45 p.m., followed by a reception from 8 to 10 p.m. The cost to attend is $15 for student members, $30 for members and $60 for non-members. For information, visit www.aigachicago.org.
