Tim Robbins gave the folks in Edwardsville, Ill., a surprise treat last week.
The actor, who was in the town filming the movie “The Return,” stopped by a downtown bar for about 10 minutes, had a drink and then left. He returned a few minutes later carrying an electric guitar and joined the band on stage, reports The Telegraph, a newspaper in Alton. Robbins’ impromptu mini-concert lasted for about two hours, and he played classic R&B and “Backstreets” by Bruce Springsteen.
“I have never had a big celebrity come in and sit in with the band,” said Laurie Chavez, owner of the bar. “He thought this was an awesome place and thanked me for showing him a good time.”
Robbins thanked the band, took a schedule and signed the wall before he walked out the front door and left.
