WED 6/13

Reel drama

On stage, timing is everything, so it’s fitting that the local premiere of Dori Berinstein’s documentary “ShowBusiness: The Road to Broadway” comes on the heels of Sunday’s Tony Awards. The flick offers a behind-the-scenes take on Broadway musicals “Wicked,” “Taboo,” “Caroline, or Change” and “Avenue Q.” See our Fast-Paised review of “ShowBusiness” online at metromix.com. 5:20 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. $9.25. Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave. 773-871-6604.

Go for seconds

People always say they want to be remembered with laughter instead of tears, but let’s face it: Snickering can be misinterpreted. But feel free to let loose your guffaws while lauding the career of late comedian and writer Jim Zulevic when the 55th season of Theater on the Lake opens with a world premiere sketch revue, “Apparently Heaven Can’t Wait … The Best of Jim Zulevic at The Second City.” 7:30 p.m. Through Sunday. $17.50. Theater on the Lake, 2400 N. Lake Shore Drive. 312-742-7994.
