Lynn Arnold Wiley, 93, of Crete since 1939, died June 8, 2007 at home. Born Nov. 24, 1913 near Butler, IL. Loving husband for 68 years of Dorothy, nee Felkel; father, of Chuck (Susan), Greg (Judy) and Terry (Rose) Wiley; grandfather, of 9; great-grandfather, of 6; preceded in death by his brother Austin Wiley. Lynn was retired Superintendent of Crete School District 201-U and Speed Director of Special Education. Prior he worked as junior high teacher and high school principal. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Carthage College and master’s from University of Illinois. Lynn proudly served in the US Navy at Iwo Jima during WWII. He was charter commander of Crete AMVETS, member and past president Crete Lions Club and member and past president Lincolnshire Country Club. Memorial Visitation Sunday, June 17 at 1:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. service at Crete United Methodist Church, 1321 Main St., Crete.
