Robert C. Sellergren, age 87, of 2908 S. Shore Dr., Delavan, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Harbor House Care in Lake Geneva. He was born November 6, 1919 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Albert and Mabel, nee Goetschel, Sellergren. He attended and graduated from Oak Park High School in Illinois and was a Hall of Fame Athlete at University of Dubuque Iowa where he graduated. He was a self-employed contractor in Illinois for many years. He served as a Decorative Lt. Col. In the U.S. Army Air Corp. in WWII. He also was a member of the Delbrook Golf Course in Delavan. He is survived by his wife, Gladys of Delavan; two daughters, Karen Sellergren of La Canada, CA and Sandi Mellin, also of La Canada, CA; two sons, Robert (Patty) Sellergren Jr. of Palatine, IL and Michael (Joan) Sellergren of Arlington Heights, IL; four grandchildren, Danielle, Bobby, Madelene and Alison; four brothers, Willard and Roladn Sellergren, both of Illinois, Richard (Marge) Sellergren of Illinois and James (Lois) Sellergren, also of Illinois; one sister, Carol Leitz of Illinois; also nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Roy, Albert Jr. and Howard Sellergren; two sister-in-laws, Kay and Beret Sellergren; and his parents. Family will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, IL. Burial will be at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Harbor House of Lake Geneva. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, is assisting the family.
