Jerzy Sokol, age 74, resident of Home Glen, died June 15, 2007. Born January 26, 1933 in Poland, beloved husband of Zofia Teresa, nee Morz; loving father of the late Wojciech, Joanna (Richard) Hetrick, Krzystof (Eva) Sokol, Dorothy (Maciej) Walczak-Wojciak; cherished grandfather of Diana Hetrick, Erica Hetrick and Christian Sokol. Preceded by his brothers and sisters: Emil, Leontyna, Wladyslawa, Wanda, Zofia, Teresa and Antoni. Jerzy was a loving father and grandfather whose concern for family and friends superseded all else. He had extraordinary creativity and compassion that showed every day. His beautiful vegetable garden, delicious cooking, kindness to animals and the love for nature and adventure are what he will be most remembered for. Memorial service, Wednesday, June 20, 2007 12 p.m. from Szykowny Funeral Home, 4901 S. Archer Ave (1 blk East of Pulaski) in Chicago to St. Albert the Great Church in Burbank, 1 p.m. mass.
