Aristotle “Ted” Maheras, U.S. Navy Veteran WWII. Beloved husband of 60 years of Helen, nee Williams; loving father of John (Pamela), Paul (Nancy) and Jo Ann (John) Goodwin; proud grandfather of Lea, Molly and Kate Maheras, Haley and Graham Goodwin; devoted son of the late John and Jennie Maheras; dear brother of Arthur (the late Sophia), the late Thomas (Lula) and George (the late Penelope) Maheras; brother-in-law of Penelope (Solon) Bannos and Evangeline (the late William) Auxier; fond uncle; cousin; and friend to many. Ted was a member of VFW Post 9284, Elk Grove Village and Past Commander from 1993 to 1996, self-employed shoe repairman for over 50 years and Greeter at Wal-Mart in Elk Grove Village for over 8 years. Donated 131 units of blood to Life Source Blood Services. Visitation Tuesday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Rd., (at Prospect) Itasca, IL. Family and Friends are requested to meet Wednesday morning at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 893 Church Rd., Elmhurst, IL for funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
