Whether you’re lounging on the beach, sipping drinks poolside or just running from the office to catch a train, summer means sunshine. Sure, we know the merits of sunscreen and dangers of tanning beds, but our eyes need protection too.

Enter sunglasses.

This season’s popular oversized and wrap-around styles protect your eyes from harsh sunlight and help prevent annoying wrinkles and crow’s feet. While designer, logo-studded shades may be in with celebrities, stylish and good-looking pairs can be found at many price points.

Tips on shades

Some important things to look for when shopping for sunglasses:

* Pairs that block both UVA and UVB rays — both are damaging, causing wrinkles and possible skin cancer. (Check the label or ask the store for info.)

* If you spend more time outside or driving, look for darker lenses, which provide more protection.

* Choose lenses that will fit your face — if you are petite with delicate features, huge frames may overwhelm you.
