Tom Selleck reprises the role of Jesse Stone, police chief of a small Massachusetts town, in this 2006 drama based on the books of Robert A. Parker (“Spenser: For Hire”). Stone’s latest case involves the death of a teenage girl whose body is found floating in a lake. He discovers that she had been engaging in some self-destructive behaviors, possibly because of an unhappy home life. Viola Davis, Vito Rezza and Kohl Sudduth also star.
2. ‘Hidden Palms’
7 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9
Johnny seeks out Eddie’s mom for answers; Cliff devises a plan to get rid of Travis; Jesse Jo takes Nikki under his wing; feeling guilty, Greta confesses to Johnny.
3. ‘Pulp Fiction’
7 p.m., Bravo
Director Quentin Tarantino’s violent, much-praised drama was one of the most controversial movies of 1994. It boasts first-rate performances by John Travolta — whose career was resuscitated by the movie — and Samuel L. Jackson as hired killers who often debate life’s larger issues. A parallel plot involves Bruce Willis as a corrupt boxer in trouble. Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer co-star.
4. ‘Zoolander’
7 p.m., Comedy Central
The success of “Meet the Parents” gave Ben Stiller the clout to direct, co-write, co-produce and star in this 2001 comedy about a male model who becomes enmeshed in intrigue. Nearing the end of his career on the fashion runway, he becomes an unwitting pawn in a plot to assassinate a foreign dignitary. Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor (Stiller’s wife) and Will Ferrell co-star.
5. ‘The Lost Weekend’
7 p.m., TCM
Director Billy Wilder and producer Charles Brackett pulled no punches in their 1945 screenplay that follows writer Don Birnham (Ray Milland) as he goes on a weekend alcoholic bender. Milland responded with a fearless performance that won him an Academy Award as best actor and lifted him into the ranks of the heavyweight thespians. Wilder and Brackett also won Oscars for the screenplay and direction, while the film itself was named best picture.
