Michael J. “Mickey” Jamrok, age 87, longtime Mt. Greenwood, Frankfort and Orland Park resident, passed away June 22 at the Illinois Veterans Home. A semi-trailer mechanic, he was the owner of Jamrok Repair in Alsip. A trumpeter and professional musician, he had served seven years with the U.S. Army and was a member of the United States Army Band. Husband for 59 years of Gertrude, nee Gombotz; father of Michael (Marianne) Jamrok and Peggy Ann McCracken; grandfather of Brian and Jeffrey Jamrok, Catie, Michael, Amanda and Quinn McCracken; brother of Edward Jamrok and the late Sophie Belka, Frances, John, Raymond, Frank, Joseph and Adolph Jamrok. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (US Rt. 30, 3 Blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights, on Sunday, June 24 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral Monday, 9 a.m. to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Orland Hills.
