Robert J. Kuerten, 83, of Deerfield, passed away June 17, 2007. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, graduated from Northwestern University and was Vice President for Garvey Commodities until retiring in 1989. Beloved husband of Else R. Kuerten; dear father of Janet (James) Leja and the late Jay R. Kuerten; loving grandfather of James and John Leja; dear brother-in-law of Kathe Baffes, Caroline Reitenbach and William (the late Lorraine) Woodrow; dear son-in-law of Elisabeth Reitenbach and the late Peter (Margit) Reitenbach; dear uncle of Karen, Sharon, Tina and the late Glenn, William and Lori. He was preceded in death by his parents, I. John and Elizabeth Kuerten. He was a member of the Deerfield Seniors Group, and he loved to play golf, walk and ride his bike. A special thanks to the Deerfield Fire and Paramedics Dept., the Highland Park Hospital ER & ICU for their excellent and loving care of Bob, and to our wonderful neighbors and church staff for their support. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, 824 Waukegan Rd., Deerfield, IL. Interment private.
