M. Jackson “Jake” Major, 14, tragically died from a heart condition June 20, 2007. He lives, however, within the very essence of those he touched. He was born in Evanston, IL on Aug. 9, 1992. He is the beautiful son of Gene Ciurus Major and Jim Major; and brother of Jimmy Reed Major; the grandson of Carole Major and of Linda Reed and her partner, grandpappy Walter Johnson; the nephew of Terris Major and Joan Mathien, Greg and Michelle Major, Jeff and Susan Major, Tayo Andreasen and Bertil Mahs, and Lynanne Ciurus. He is loved by his entire family including his cousins; the West Virginia relatives; friends; and teachers. Jake will be with the best of characters: shooting dice and listening to Sinatra with Dziadz (Geno Cyrus); deep-sea fishing and debating big ideas with Poppa (Gabe Major); and staying up all night, playing guitar with uncle Mike (Ciurus).
