Christian Bale is known to go to extreme lengths for his film roles. And his turn in the upcoming “Rescue Dawn” was no exception. Bale stars as the only American to ever break out of a POW camp in the Loation jungle. In one scene, the actor eats a bowl of live maggots, nypost.com reports. The director, Werner Herzog, insisted Bale actually eat the bugs because he wanted “audiences to start believing their eyes again,” in this era of rampant computer effects.
