Dear Tom,
The forecast that appears in the Tribune each day reports the expected high and low temperatures for that day. It is clear that the high temperature occurs during the day, but I am puzzled as to what part of the day will yield the low.
Ann Grimes, River Forest, Ill.
Dear Ann,
The elements of the weather forecasts that appear on this page are presented in chronological order. For example, the “TODAY” forecast at the top of the page first gives the expected afternoon high temperature, followed by the low temperature the following night (actually, early morning of the next day).
In occasional situations when daytime temperatures are expected to fall, the highest morning reading will be given, followed by “falling.”
