Aphrodite Sarris “Dee Dee” was born in 1922 to parents Thomas and Marika Valos of Chicago. She graduated from Northwestern Univ. and then lived in Swampscott, Mass. for 30 years with her husband, Dr. S. Peter Sarris. She spent the last 20 years of her life in Palm Beach, Florida, where she died on May 29. Dee Dee was dearly loved by many friends and family for her generous spirit and zest for life. She is survived by four children, Valerie (Gary Geoghegan) Sarris, Marina Shampaine, Peter (Candy Bray) Sarris, and Thomas (Karen) Sarris; by two grandsons; and by a sister, Frances V. Papas, and brothers Bill (Valerie) Valos and Alec Valos. She was predeceased by brother George Valos. A 40-day memorial service will be held Sunday, July 1, at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Rd, at 9:30 a.m.
