Few players brought the type of energy to the ballpark, or to their lives, that the late Rod Beck did every time he did something. But that high-energy lifestyle may have contributed to his untimely death June 23. The former Cubs closer, who saved 51 games in 1998, was laid to rest Thursday, and Melissa Isaacson was there to get a look inside Beck’s life on and off the field from those who knew him best.
