A peacock that roamed into a fast-food restaurant parking lot in New York City was attacked by man who vilified the bird as a vampire, animal-control authorities said. According to worker Felicia Finnegan, 19, the attacker told startled witnesses, ” ‘I’m killing a vampire!’ ” The bird had to be euthanized, said Richard Gentles, of the city’s Center for Animal Care and Control.
