Say what?

Tick-tock
Sure, sometimes we wish we could bypass the CTA and leap right from work to the comfort of our couch. The author discusses her best-selling novel in a 90-minute appearance Tuesday; also includes a book signing. 6:30 p.m. Reservations: chicagohistory.org. Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Friendly brews
We’re not saying wine tastings are too stuffy for our tastes (well, OK, we kind of are) but we’re guessing that the beer tasting at laid-back Andersonville bar Hopleaf will be a jeans-and-T-shirt kind of affair. Sample imported and local beers, with appetizers. Also included: a raffle with a chance to win a private boat cruise party, Cubs and White Sox tickets, and gift certificates from local merchants. 6:30 p.m. $50. 5148 N. Clark St. 773-334-5609.
