Barry Bonds flipped a laundry cart to the ground and stalked away.

Mired in one of the worst slumps of his career, it was his hardest hit of the day as the Giants lost 5-3 to the rival Dodgers on Sunday.

Bonds had a second straight 0-for-5 performance to extend his hitless stretch to a season-worst 20 at-bats — the slugger’s longest period without a hit since his record-breaking 2001.

“It’s an embarrassment for me to be wearing this (expletive) uniform ’cause of the way I’m playing. There, that’s it. Now go away,” he said.

Bonds had consecutive 0-for-5 or worse efforts for only the fourth time in his career.

Sheets update

The middle finger on Ben Sheets’ pitching hand has not improved, and the Brewers All-Star isn’t sure he’ll be able to make his next start Thursday. “I can bend it,” the right-hander said.

Extra innings

The Reds’ Adam Dunn hit a 460-foot homer to right field in the fourth inning to dent the scoreboard at Shea Stadium. “Well, gee, I hope they can find the money to pay for that somewhere,” Dunn said, joking. … Gary Sheffield stole home in the sixth inning, the Tigers’ first steal of home since Matt Walbeck on April 11, 1997, against the White Sox. … The Phillies activated right-handed reliever Tom Gordon from the 60-day disabled list.
